In 1997, I  purchased a housing plot (About 485 sq m area)from a well reputed south Indian business group - VGP Group. I purchased the plot in Kodaikanal when they held their property show in Dubai in 1997 .I have all  the  related documents. But the problem is that they have not developed any infrastructure etc to build a home there and so feel cheated.I feel that the place is not suitable to build any home and looks like a jungle when I visited in May 2012.

They had promised to build a clubhouse, road, electricity and related infrastructure . The land has not even been marked into plots even after 15 years. Please contact me if you have been conned by this so that we can take collective action

My name is Sridhar Nageswaran .I am based in Kolkata. My brother purchased a property in Kodai Cornwell in 1995 when VGP had visited California. I have already mentioned earlier that there is no point taking action against VGP because court cases will go on and on without any result and we will be spending our money and time unnecessarily. It is far better to collectively form a group as many as possible and sell the property as it is instead of individually selling the plots. Your views please.

  13. If all of you are interested please let me know. I spoke to Berlin David Packiyaraj just now. He is a broker in that area. He told me that he recently sold a plot 300 metres from Kodai Cornwell @Rs.1.75 lacs per cent.He told me that if the owners come forward with their plot numbers then there is a possibility of getting a better deal for the property after he does a land survey and identifies the plots. I think we should all look into this and give our consent to him. After he verifies he will then give us an offer. It is up to us whether we agree to his price or not. Please confirm. 14. My name is Ramesh Nageswaran and my brother SridhR Nageswaran is acting on my behalf

In my view we should identify maximum No of owners form a legal group by consent and sue VGP Cornwell on basis of violation of the sales agreement based on land costs interest charges and punitive damages
The owners need to elect a local committee from its members to coordinate with the lawyer to file the suit
Costs will need to be shared based on holding size
This is an option to selling but can be guided by same commitee

  19. In a further update it is said in the News that a very famous Actor P.R. purchased a plot there in Pathuparai and even built a house there. Without approval. So did he develop it there.

There is a person who lives there and may know market value. His name is Thirupathi. Number is 99523 66111. Other wise we can all submit petition to pay us the principle and interest of maybe 4 percent per annum. And require them to rebuy property. We need a leader here,

  33. I came to know that SEBI has rejected the application of VGP and asked them to wind up the company and refund the amount to the investors as early as 1999 (under Collective Investment Scheme - CIS) Now we have to form a group (on email everyone can join in) and we have to send a notice to VGP with a copy to SEBI, EOW (Economic Offences Wing - TN Police) and if need be file a case under TNPID Act. Any legal battle will be protracted, so it is prudent enough to be smart and come out with whatever funds coms our way.
